And the show goes on....
As you all are well aware by now, this band suffered a great blow this month. We lost our good friend and band mate Johnny Schou on July 1st, the same day our album Madeline was released nationwide. These are bittersweet times for us, but the decision to press on was only natural. Our good friend Joey has taken it upon himself to help us out for our upcoming shows. We are incredibly grateful for all the support that we've received from our fans and friends. Your outreach has made it much easier to move forward. With that said, the first few shows of the Finch/SKSK shows couldn't have gone better. The tour started at the SOMA in San Diego and we just finished two back to back shows at the Glass House in Pomona. From here, the plan was to go to St. George, Utah, however, we hit a snag. Our van broke down but we're back on track and psyched to play the show in LA tonight.

Warped Tour Day 2 - Las Cruces - June 26
Overcast! After driving through the night in order to arrive in time for the 9:00 AM check in, we were kindly rewarded by cloud cover. Unfortunately at this point we still have not slept... Set times are randomized every day so we could perform anywhere from noon to seven, so it makes for a long day... Luckily today we played at 1:00 and had an awesome crowd to support us. Thanks so much to everyone that came out today! You are the ones making this tour worthwhile for us. Keep checking back for more updates.

Warped Tour Day 1 - Phoenix - June 25
After a grueling two day drive from Fort Collins, we arrived in Phoenix and were kindly rewarded with 110 degree temperatures. Those of you who aren't familiar with Warped Tour, try to envision the following: 75+ bands, tens of thousands of kids, triple digit temperatures, no chance in hell of escaping the sun, and ABSOLUTELY NO SLEEP ALLOWED. Luckily our bodies are used to the lack of sleep and dehydration. Before embarking upon this tour, we received very wise advice from Bill Stevenson of the Descendents, "Air conditioning or you'll perish". Never has advice reigned so true....

"Typical" Music Video Shoot
Triple digit temperatures, a moldy retro motel, eight mattresses, a crew of about twenty, a porn star model and one genius director... What could we possibly be doing? That's right, filming our debut music video... We first received treatment about a month prior to the shoot from director Christopher Sims (Jimmy Eat World, Anberlin, MXPX). We immediately loved it... After a conference call with Chris and the band, we decided that we would be shooting the video in an old motel in Van Nuys, California with the gorgeous Gabriella Fox... Shooting a music video is a lot more complicated than just playing along with your song. Add 100+ degree weather to the mix, and you've got quite the day ahead of you. First take was around 3:00 pm and of course we picked the motel room with no air conditioning. Thankfully the rooms were blocked out from the sun, however, by putting lights in every corner, we managed to turn the room into an oven... We did about twenty full band takes in the oven and then as night fell, we began filming the scenes we had all been waiting for... Our friend Gabriella Fox was kind enough to play the part of the "whore" for the video. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful model to play the role. Without giving away too much, I think everyone will be quite excited to see this video. Christopher Sims proved to exceed our expectations in every way. Check back soon to see the completed video. -TMP

KRAB Bakersfield Radio Show
This weekend marked a milestone in our bands career, our first headlining show outside of Colorado... As a band, we have played many, many shows all over the US, but never have we had such a great crowd response and promotion surrounding an event. Thanks to our friends at KRAB, we can now officially call Bakersfield a home away from home... The show itself couldn't have gone better. After meeting and greeting a few diehard fans that had been saving their seats since ten in the morning, we were introduced to a few of the DJ's from KRAB. It was quite surprising to hear how receptive their listeners have been to "Typical", and to find out how many bands we had beaten out for airplay. Pretty crazy stuff... A few hours later it was show time. Our set began right at sunset, and the crowd was definitely ready for an escape from the sun. The venue itself was a little odd in the sense that we basically were surrounded by a moat... The crowd was much farther away than your typical amphitheater. In order to "bridge the gap" between the audience and us, Sean decided to take a dip. This got the audience pretty stoked... All in all, the show couldn't have gone better. Gaining radio play on KRAB has single handedly taken us from a Colorado band, to a national band. Thanks again to everyone who came out to the show!! We hope to see you all again soon. -TMP ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
